When it comes to your wardrobe, there's literally thousands of stores to choose from to fill your closet with the exact styles you're looking for. From Amazon.com to Target, Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, or even walmart (they've really tried to step up their game lately), you've got plenty of choices in shopping for any style you want. These big box stores are great for the selection and pricing of clothing. The problem is you'll be shopping the same styles that thousands of other women are buying at the same time. There's something to be said for shopping boutique. Here's the top five reasons you want to shop at an online boutique.
Unique items. The selection, while typically smaller than the big box stores, is composed of more unique items than you'll usually find in the larger stores. Most boutique stores search far and wide for items to match their exact customer. Boutique's know their customers much better than bigger stores. As these smaller businesses know their customer better, they are better able to match the styles to fit their customer. You'll find more unique styles for this exact reason. Boutique's are known for having the perfect dresses for that upcoming event on your calendar, and you'll be sure to show up looking as unique as you are when you buy from a boutique.
Limited selection. While this sounds like a negative, I like to think of this being a huge point to shop boutique. The limited selection available at a boutique ensures the dress you buy for your friends wedding, or for family photos, won't be the same dress you see on anyone else at that event. Boutique's typically have much smaller quantities on hand of all items. If you're looking for something nobody else will be wearing, your best bet is to shop boutique.
Quality. Items in a boutique are hand picked, usually by the owner. All items are touched, tried on, sampled, and handled before they even hit the rack. This ensures most items will be of better quality than those bought by the thousands at the bigger stores, where their goal is to sell as many as possible of every item.
Experience. As I've shopped at boutiques, I usually find the experience to be much more personal than at larger stores. Many times I'm one of just a few people in my local boutique (which is great if you're looking to avoid crowds during a pandemic). When shopping online boutiques I've received messages directly from the owner at times thanking me for my purchase. Not something you ever find somewhere like target.com.
Support small business. I've thought a lot about this point in the last 12 months. It's been sad to see so many small businesses close during the COVID-19 pandemic. I didn't know I appreciated the culture these businesses bring to my community, and I don't want to lose them. I've made it a point to shop small whenever I have the choice. It makes a huge difference to every business owner. Boutiques are almost always in the same boat. Without our support none of them would be around. That's not something I want to change.
